Best Answer

A 'napoleon complex' is a type of mental condition in which a person attempts to compensate for what they believe to be inadequacies in some facet of their being by capitalising on their strengths as much as possible.

The term originates from its namesake Napoleon Bonaparte who has popularly been perceived to have committed himself to conquering the world as a result of his insecurity over his short stature. In fact, this is a myth; Napoleon was in fact above average height for the time.
