Never heard of such a switch.
bad pressure switch
Try changing the oil pressure switch. now, where is the oil pressure switch? on the dash next to the trip odometer switch is a rubber stopper or a hole that leads into the dash. push a pen into the hole(remove rubber stopper) and depress the button in there. this is to be done after every oil change.
Check Oil Pressure Switch. It's about $60 at Toyota
You may have damaged the new oil pressure switch when you installed it. Otherwise, even if your oil level is okay, your engine might not be getting enough oil if the oil pump is clogged or weak.
Oil relay switch? No such switch on this vehicle.
The oil pressure switch is located on the oil filter adapter. Find the oil filter and you should see the oil pressure switch.
DO NOT RUN this engine until you have it checked out,if you have no oil pressure you will destroy your engine. If your oil light is on you have no oil pressure, could be your oil pump or crankshaft bearings. There is a chance it could be a pressure switch malfunction.
This suggests that the oil level indicator or just the light switch is faulty or broken, it can be repaired by any licenced mechanic or perhaps an Auto Electrician
Is the engine tapping when running? If not, check the oil level. If the oil level is at the full mark on the dip stick, then check the oil sending switch. My just need to replace it. Easy fix if that is your problem.
where is the oil pressure switch on my 96 Yukon
May be the oil sending unit in the oil pan. 97? it could be external. Yes, it is the oil pressure sending unit. Easy and inexpensive part to get fixed. I had the same problem on my '97 Stratus with the 2.5l V-6. I replaced the oil pressure switch ($16 from NAPA), cleaned up the connector to the switch and the problem was solved. The switch is located just above the oil filter and you'll have to remove the filter to get to it. On a 4 cylinder it is on the rear of the block, to the left of center.
The Oil Pressure switch if broken off will drain "pump" the oil out of the engine very quickly.
