No group of people identifies as Canaanite today. During the Hellenistic period, the Canaanites of coastal Palestine, along with most of their neighbours, adopted the Greek language and culture, losing their special identity as Canaanites. However, they remained the dominant population of coastal Judea during Roman times, and eventually became Christians. During Islamic times, many became Muslims, while others remained Christian. They also adopted the Arabic culture and began to identify as Arabs, just as their ancestors had adopted Greek culture. Maxine Rodinson (The Arabs) says the modern definition of an Arab is simply one who identifies as an Arab. So, the modern-day Canaanite is really the Palestinian Arab of Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
they don't really play a role because they don't exist in modern Egyptian culture.
modern culture is how we live our life now. Our religion, the music we listen to, the food we eat and even how we get around places. modern culture is starting to be the same in most countries except for a few countries who still believe in old ways. old ways would be like when a father has a job then their son will have that job no matter what.
