The first incarnation of OpenOffice was originally called 'StarOffice' - created by the German company StarDivision. The program code was bought by Sun Microsystems in 1999.
None as far as I can see ! I've been using it for years and it's a great piece of software. It looks and feels like the Microsoft Office suite - with the advantage that the end user can submit improvements for inclusion in later releases.
