'Patriotism' is loyalty to, and defence of your country.
Simon Stock is a saint but not a patron saint at this time.
The likely word is the plural noun patriots (those loyal to a country).(The similar word is parrots, talking birds.)
A patriot! He was a english american author. Born in Thetford, in the english country of Norfolk. Paine emigrated to the British American colonies in 1774 in time to participate in the American Revolution. He wrote the pamphlet: Common Sense in 1776.

He was a patrot of sorts. Surely a politcal figure during the revolutionary war and uprising. But he was more or less a figure that helped provok the war. Think of it this way. He wrote out these ideas of basic rights. Freedom of speech, Religion and Pursuit of Hpaainess. These ideas helped inspire the war but when the war actually broke out he kind of went underground. Honestly I would too, you just gave a malitia reasoning and power to start war and if they loose you are the first to be hanged, murilaited and burned. XD
