I have a patterjack (Jack Russell cross with patterdale terrier)bitch called Jess. She is 4 years old.She is black, smooth coated with a white bib and white toes. She has the temperment of a wild animal.Chews and destroys all her toys.Has to be walked on the lead at all times as she will attack any other dog (unless they are members of her ratting terrier pack) and some humans.Rabbits and Rats,I'll leave that to your imagination!Certainly not the type of dog to have if you have young children-they will not grow old!Despite the temperment(which may be odd)She is the most entertaining little dog I have ever seen. And I'm glad she's mine! She is a single minded killer.generations of breeding have made her that way.I have another dog which is a Jack Russell crossed with a chiuahuah(sorry about spelling). Both dogs are treated the same but they are chalk and cheese.
The population of Patterdale is 460.
The Jack Russell is a smaller version of a Fox terrrier. A Fox terrier is derived from a wolf. I belive they just kept breeding small-legged Fox terriers until they got the Jack Russell terrier.
Parson Jack Russell's have longer legs and therefore can run faster
it is spelled the same, "jack russell"
