PCtools firewall is OK
I mean it does not pass Shields UP test which is the general firewall test site...
If you are really looking for free best firewall then
Zonealarm Basic firewall or Comodo firewall Pro is best...
Install any one and will provide you great protection from outside attack
it has some vary little but not a lot of spy spyware
Yes, in my experience it does. What happens is that the avast! Web Shield (process ashWebSv.exe) locks up, as does Ashampoo's process firewall.exe, with CPU usage at 100%. Solutions: a) replace Ashampoo firewall with another free firewall, such as ZoneAlarm or PCTools Free Firewall; b) use Windows Firewall (not such a bad suggestion if you're already behind a hardware router firewall); c) replace avast! with another free antivirus, such as AVG Free or Avira AntiVir PE Classic. Personally, I find the extra real-time protection available in avast! to be worth the trouble of changing to, and 'training' a different fireewall.
it has some vary little but not a lot of spy spyware but cant be seen or stop sorry
== == Pretty much, they're both garbage programs. If you are talking about Pctools Spyware doctor . I disagree it not only top rated but from my experience it actually does what it says , but I agree on the McFee , the pctools can also be had with anti-virus for 10 bucks more and it is a 3 license. But, remove norton or mcfee first and search for a removal tool or it will not truly be gone . if you want a separate anti virus nod32 eset has a small footprint then load Pctools .note :I refurbish computers for a living
One can find the function of a firewall on various websites like Wikipedia and Dummies. One could also check his firewall in control panel and read what the function of a firewall is.
Try this link for mcafee amvo repair. The second link is for pctools amvo repair. The third is for Kapursky forum on amvo.
Its like a firewall
Mac actually hasn't got a firewall like Win. You need a special firewall software. For example I'm using ProteMac Netmine. http://www.protemac.com/netmine/
A proxy server
There is one made by Microsoft Its called Microsoft Security Essentials There is another one called PCTools Anti-Virus
That sounds like a firewall.
Turn on "Logging" for your firewall and check logs to find out if the application is blocked.
