well first Triton is so close to neptune that neptunes gravity is pulling it closer and eventually Triton will explode and become a bright ring. And it is the only moon in the solar system that circles in a direction opposite to the planets rotation. The reason for nerieds erratic orbit is tritons backwards orbit. It disrupts many of the moons also

Can you see neptunes moons at night?

Not without a very good telescope. Triton, Nereid and Larissa might be viewable, but the other 10 would only be viewable with a ground based observatory.

How does the orbit of Neptune's moon Triton by Charon that of other satellites?

It is the only large moon in the Solar System with a retrograde orbit, which is an orbit in the opposite direction to its planet's rotation.

Why were Neptunes moons named what they were?

Since Neptune was the Roman god of the sea, most of its moons are named after other mythological figures associated with the sea (for example, its largest moon is Triton, which was the name of one of Neptune's sons in Roman mythology).

What is a Triton electric shower and how does it differ from other showers?

A 'Triton Electric Shower' is a shower that can draw on a cold water supply and heat it on demand. It differs from other showers in the fact that it can use cold water and heat it itself, instead of relying on a boiler to heat the water first.

What is the only large moon that circles its planet in the opposite direction to the planets rotation?

Neptunes Triton. Triton's icy surface reflects so much of what little sunlight reaches it that the moon is one of the coldest objects in the solar system, about -240 C (-400 F). It's the only large moon in the solar system that circles its planet in a direction opposite to the planet's rotation (a retrograde orbit), which suggests that it may once have been an independent object that Neptune captured. The disruptive effect this would have had on other satellites could help to explain why Nereid has the most eccentric orbit of any known moon - it's almost seven times as far from Neptune at one end of its orbit as at the other end

What is the birth myths of the Triton?

There is no birth myth for Triton, son of Poseidon, or other "mermen" named for Triton after having fish tails and male upper bodies.

How many moons does nuptiune have?

Neptune has 13 known moons. These are Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Galatea, Larissa, Proteus, Triton, Nereid, Halimede, Sao, Laomedeia, Psamathe, Neso. However only one of them (Triton) is what a 5-year-old would recognize as a 'moon'. The mass of Triton accounts for 99.5% of the total mass orbiting Neptune making it far larger than any other natural satellites of Neptune. Also it is Neptune's only spheroidal moon, with the other moons being similar in appearance to asteroids.

Are moons satellites to planets?

yes moons are satellites to other planets

What is unusual about Triton?

Triton orbits Neptune in the opposite direction from all of Neptune's other moons and has a highly inclined orbit.

Are earth satellites only scientific satellites?

No. The earth has one natural satellite ... the moon ... and any number of other satellites whose primary purpose is not scientific (e.g. communication satellites).
