I suspect the phrase was incorrectly copied from a pathology report. The adjective perineural refers to something that surrounds a nerve. If I'm right, the pathologist wrote (or meant to write...to err is human?) perineuronal satellitosis. This is a phenomenon in which clusters of glial cells surround, in a satellite-like fashion, a neurone. PS is regarded as a form of gliosis, a fancy way of saying non-specific (non-malignant) reaction. While it is a characteristic finding in oligodendrogliomas of the brain, it has also been described in glioblastoma multiforme--a high-grade brain tumour, temporal lobe epilepsy and in the basal ganglia of neurofibromatosis type 1
