Hi i have read this poem many times and it gets to your heart in many ways that you cannot understand. This poem itself is full of repetition becuase the poet keeps repeating Standing with your little hat on your head The star of David on your coat Standing in the ghetto with you arms up as Nazi machine guns pointing at you. This stanza gets repeated throughout the story like four times and this is why the poem is full of repetition and the reason why the poet repeateds this stanza is because the author wants to show the readers the importance of this signifcant thing in history and also how many people had died just like this little polish boy
