a standing executive committee in a communist country.
the standing executive committee in the former Soviet Union, which functioned as the legislative authority when the Supreme Soviet was not sitting
Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR was created in 1938.
Soviet Russia did not have elections as we know them. There were two houses of Government- the Duma- roughly corresponding to the Congress, the lower house, and the Presidium. All Presidium members were appointed, many were High level Military, Naval and KGB officers.- of necessity they were Party members.
North Korea has a unicameral legislature called the Supreme People's Assembly. However, it doesn't often meet, and instead, the Presidium generally does all the actual legislative work. The Presidium is a small group of high ranking officials in the Assembly; the President of the Presidium is considered to be the highest ranking official in North Korea. However, the country is actually ruled by Kim Jong Un, who is the supreme commander of the military and the head of the largest political party (there are three parties, two small ones and one huge one, and the two small ones are controlled by the huge one).
Mikhail Gorbachev was assigned the title of president on the 15th of march 1990. before that the title was Chairman of the Supreme Soviet. Following his resignation in 1991 the Soviet union formally dissolved.
The Duma was created by Tsar Nicholas II in response to the Russian Revolution of 1905. The Duma never had true legislative powers that would bind the Tsar's authority and he largely ignored it. The Duma was dissolved immediately after the February Revolution of 1917.
Kremlin Presidium was created in 1934.

it's an administrative committee, usually permanent and governmental, acting when its parent body is in recess but exercising full powers: the presidium of the Supreme Soviet.
Not necessarily the Duma was the lower house of the Government assembly- which was nominally democratic, the Presidium is and was the Upper House- the duma roughly corresponds to the .S. House of representatives, and the Presidium to the Senate. I believe both of these have been revived in modern, Post-Soviet Russia. The Presidium had, put mildly, Class. Most modern Presidium officers were ranking officers of the Army or KGB in Soviet times, and Nobility in Czarist days.
Hi I am Hritik Sharma in class 6 of PRESIDIUM . If you are referring to AM such as 11 AM then it is "AFTER Meridiem."

Lower house of the legislature. it roughly corresponded to the House of representatives in US govt. The Presidium was the higher house and was so celebrated it was even the official (Sovietized) name for what we in the West call the Empire Gown) For a while they were styled (federation gowns) after the old Communist system was re-structured. The Duma is or was- the House, the Presidium was equivalent to the Senate! so it goes.

Both my children go to Presidium and the journey has been really fruitful till now. The faculty is very supportive and their teaching system is appreciable too! Either you had some bad experience in a specific branch or something like that because we really love the school and my younger son is doing wonders, both academically and in extra-curricular field.
Protection is the English equivalent of the Latin 'praesidium'. That protection often is in the form of a garrison. The word 'presidium' has a different meaning in English. It refers to 'a kind of executive committee'.
The legislative or law-making branch- which is represented in the US by the Senate ( upper House- l00 members) and the House of Representatives- lower House- about 400 Plus members) In Soviet Russia, of all places you had the Duma ( people"s assembly, roughly) and the Presidium. Presidium made up mainly of high Party and Armed Forces officials such as Generals, Admirals, KGB directors, etc. neither body was elective in the American sense.
