Dorthia Dix also known as Dragon Dix led the prison reform in America's second great awakning. Before this reform movement children and adults where put in the same jail after Juvinille detention was created. Before people who owed money were put in jail until they could pay it back after they just owed money and if they didn't pay the government would take away there stuff

I am answering this right now because I have to do a social studies project on Prison Reform lol. Basically, the prison and asylum reform was where men and women thought how badly the prisoners or the insane in the asylums were being treated. I think that Dorothea Dix was to start this reform when she visited one prison and thought of the conditions the prisoners were in.
