Most modern cell phones will work on most any network. The best way to find out is to ask a representative of your service provider. The young men and women who staff the phone centers, and the ones who are just a phone call away are trained to answer questions like this. Remember that as a service customer, they work for you, and they should immediately step up and help. Certainly they'd prefer to sell you a phone - it's their job. But they are also obligated to assist and help you (with a smile!) find out about connectivity of another phone to their (your!) service. Lots of people bring a phone to their current service provider and get it "hooked up". This is done best by going to a phone center where they can scan the phone and make all the connections via the computer tied to their network server.Take a model number of a phone you are considering and call your provider and just ask them if it's "connectable" to their (your) service. You should be able to get immediate answers. You will need to call the call center and ask them for the specifics...obviously the phone you purchase from eBay will have to be unlocked and accept a SIM card...but it will also have to have a specific bandwidth in order for the phone to work where you are at specifically.... make sure you ask what bandwidth the phone will need to haveDifferent Types of Cell Phones on the basis of SIMGSM Phone (SIM Type)CDMA Phone (SIM Type)2 G Phone (Service Type)3 G Phone (Service Type)4 G Phone (Service Type)Standard size SIM Phone (SIM Type)Mirco SIM Phone (SIM Type)

Scan Life and LG are the phones that are able to read 2D barcodes. You can find them on AT&T sites and Verizon and other phone carrier service sites.
There should also be a phone number on the back where you can call in to find out. Also, they can scan it at the store...
