Pretty simple really, just put in the XP CD and boot from it.
In some cases you may have to go into the BIOS menu (or setup menu as its sometimes called) and change the boot sequence to boot from CD first. The process of entering the BIOS menu changes from maker to maker, generally youll hit F2 F10 or delete during the startup process.
Once you've gotten your system to boot from the XP CD, just follow the on-screen instructions, its pretty straightforward.
Note: When you get to the format stage, if you decide to format the hard drive always pick the quick format, the not-quick format can take HOURS & isn't any better really.
For under 10 bucks you can buy a recovery disc on e-bay. I just did it and it worked great. Assuming you have xp now. If you want to nuke every thing that's on there you will need your xp "key". There are very lite programs that will help you with this that you can download for free.
As long as they use the same data connector, yes. However, you will likely not be able to use the hard drive, as Windows XP will not usually work when transferred to another computer, and Windows Me cannot read the NTFS file system. Reinstalling Windows XP or formatting the hard drive in Windows Me will resolve these respective issues.
What this does is that it resets windows to default. Just like formatting your computer.
Yes. Reinstalling an OS wipes all information from the computer.
Formatting doesn't delete the files. It Replaces the file that tells windows where the files are. The files are only accesible using special software and wont show up in windows explorer.
Your will have to install a new operating system to boot up your computer again and all files will be lost.
There is no way to downgrade from Windows XP to Windows 98 without formatting.
the procedure depends on operating system you use in your computer. for windows xp/7 just download ccleaner.. its free...
Yes of course
exFAT-A newer version of FAT and has an advantage over the previous NTFS-The now standard with windows 7
After reinstalling windows (Windows XP Pro) on my computer, i noticed my sound icon didnt show up so i went and open the volume control and the message indicated that there was no sound mixers installed. I also noticed when i opened device manager that there was a yellow icon right beside my sound driver ( C-MEDIA AC97 Audio Device). I tryed uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but it still done the same thing. I tried reseating the sound card and reinstalling the drivers, but nothing. I also tried installing a different sound driver but during the installation, the computer resets before it finishes. I installed ubuntu on the computer and the sound worked fine, i put windows (Windows Xp Pro) it doesn't work. Does anybody have any idea on what the problem could be?
you will have to boot up your computer from the windows 7 DVD and repair the installation (I guess its called startup repair). OR If you have Windows XP installed on the same PC, then use Vista Boot PRO (Totally free) to restore Boot manager info to your windows 7 partition
Put in your Windows installation CD. Reboot your computer. If it asks you if you want to boot from CD, do so.Once everything finishes loading, choose to install windows and format your hard drive. The formatting completely cleans your computer off. Be sure to save any important files beforehand!
