the rust-colored stain that tints some desert rocks and soil
Skarnification refers to the geological process whereby an existing rock, commonly rich in calcium minerals such as calcite and dolomite, is replaced by calcium-bearing silicate minerals (such as varieties of garnet, pyroxene and epidote) to form a 'skarn'. This process usually occurs due to the infiltration of magmatic or hydrothermal fluids into the existing rock through faults and fractures, and may be associated with the formation of significant economic metal concentrations as oxide or sulfide minerals.
From Encylopedia Britannicatopaz composition (in topaz (mineral)) Topaz is an aluminum silicate containing fluorine and has a chemical formula of Al2(F,OH)2SiO4. It is formed by fluorine-bearing vapours given off during the last stages of the crystallization of igneous rocks.
Radiocarbon dating of volcanoes is the process of determining the age of volcanoes using carbon-bearing minerals found in these landforms. It is synonymous to radioactive carbon dating.

A basidium refers to a microscopic, club-shaped spore-bearing structure produced by certain fungi. It bears a definite number of external spores.

Iron-bearing minerals lose their magnetic properties when they are heated to the Curie point.
Legumes
Iron bearing minerals which oxidise to red/brown Iron Oxides (rusts).
Fleece-bearing animals are the natural resources from which wool is produced.
The word for unrefined rock or raw minerals is "ore." There is no single-word synonym.
