I think its pretty obvious. If we didnt have muscles, we would be a heaping pile of unmoving bones and skin. Your heart is also a muscle, if you didnt have muscles, your heart wouldn't beat. Bottom line is... GET EXCERSIZE!

Relative muscular strength is the amount of force you can exert in comparison to your body weight. For example, let's say we have 2 strongman competitors named Bob and Jim. Bob weighs 200 pounds and can bench 400, while Jim weighs 240 and can bench 420. Bob would have more relative strength when the two men are compared. The ratios would be:

Bob 400 / 200 = 2.0

Jim 420 / 240 = 1.75

Bob can bench more compared to his size than Jim. If you want to find out your relative strength for an exercise, simply put the amount of weight lifted and divide it by your current body weight. Some exercises, such as dumbbell curls and over-head presses, are expected for most people to be underneath 1.0, but some people (such as gymnasts) will have it in the numbers of about 1.5, give or take. As for the other exercises such as bench press, relative strength would come into play as trying to get past 1.0
