If the rash is increasing in area it covers (mark the edges with a pen and then check periodically), see your doctor immediately. If it is itchy, take a Benadryl as directed on the package. Try the usual: 1% cortisone or Balmex for heat rash. If it doesn't go away, then see your dermatologist and he can identify the cause.

If you have an itchy rash on your inner thighs, it's probably a fungal infection -- commonly called "jock itch" or "heat rash." It can easily be cured by an OTC cream called clotrimazole -- you can find this either in the foot section of your pharmacy (it also cures athlete's foot) or with the other creams. One brand name in the US is Lotrimin.

Apply the cream two to three times a day for a week to totally cure it. In the meantime, for the itching, you can also use hydrocortisone cream several times a day.

Can I use baby rash ointment on a rash that is on my arm pit?

It may depend on the reason for the rash. Rash ointments for babies are often some form of zinc oxide or vitamins A and D and are made to be gentle for the skin so it should't irritate the arm pit and may help. You can also try some kind of baby powder or corn starch. If the rash doesn't go away after a few days, you should present the rash to a medical practitioner.
