michael myers had survived the explosion in halloween 2 and is planing to return to haddonfield to kill laurie strode once and for all but he dosent know laurie is already dead. meanwhile, lauries orphaned daughter, jamie Lloyd [bailee madison] is living in haddonfield with her foster parents, richard and darlene [joel mcHale, jessicca alba] and her foster sister, rachel caruthers [ashley tisdale]. soon, rachel is dumped by her boyfreind, brady so rachel, jamie and rachels BFF, lindsay wallace [who is the same girl laurie babysat in the first two films] go to his party to find him smooching with the cheifs daughter, kelly. suddenly, there is a blackout . in the dark, michael sneaks into the house and murders brady and kelly. rachel and jamie run out of the house and go on the roof. jamie makes it to the roof but right before rachel can get up there michael pulls her off and stabs her. jamie runs to the haddonfield school and hides there. suddenly, michael finds her and manages to kill her. but right before he can, rachel had suprisingly survived and sprays him with an air tank. michael survives and chases the girls out of the school. dr.loomis [malcolm mcDowell] appears and shoots michael into a ditch which causes an explosion killing michael. rachel and jamie go home. the movie ends with jamie throwing a knife upstairs stabbing and killing darlene.
