Don't know who "Jay Giles" is, but the J. Geils band was pretty entertaining in the 70's/early 80's. The J Giels were a band that had some fame in the 1970's. Very popish sounding rock music, including their biggest hit which was titled Photograph. But earlier in their career they were a blues/rock band but they had no hit songs. They did release a few albums during their time.
The Beatles are considered the biggest band in music, as they are popular with lots of different generations and has sold many different hit records.
