A secular christian is a christian is one who believes that the united states is a secular nation where anyone can live regardless of their faith choices and firmly upholds the constitution.
They believe that Jesus was the son of God, but they are the opposite of the spectrum when compared to fundamentalists and extreme conservative christians. They tend to believe in equal rights and don't judge meaning they actually follow The Bible.
My critique of them, I get this. These are the best Christians, in my opinion, because their beliefs do not interfere with scientific advancements, and they believe in the a secular nation and are anti theocracy. For our founding fathers were all too aware that religion mixed with government meant persecution and a lack of rights for others. They tend to be the most liberal Christians, this includes giving everyone the same rights as human beings, gays, atheists, muslims, etc.

The largest difference is obviously that secular humanism is a philosophy, while Christianity is a dogmatic religion. Secular humanism focuses upon humans for cultivating morality; Christianity teaches that God is responsible for man's morality and free will. Secular humanism wishes to transcend boundaries of dogma and parochial loyalties based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. Furthermore, secular humanist ethics/morals are subject to criticism and rational guidance, unlike dogmatic, unquestionable, god-inspired tenets of Christianity.

They have nothing in common. Christianity is a religious idea while democracy is a form of government. A democracy needs to be secular in nature because it needs to allow for the freedom of religion from all sources.
There is no teaching of Christianity in democracy. Democracy is secular in nature and no religion is more powerful over another religion. All people are allowed to worship as they please without government intervention. Christianity is a philosophy and an religion that is far older than democracy.
If you consider yourself Jewish but do not follow Judaism, holding to no religion at all, then you are a "secular Jew". A significant proportion of Jews are secular Jews. Some Jews have adopted a form of Christianity and consider themselves Christian Jews or Messianic Jews.
Constantine was a Mithraist and had the imperial cult of Sol Invictus (Invincible Sun). He harnessed Christianity to use the bishops as a tool to augment his secular power. His deathbed conversion to Christianity is doubtful story.
