What is semi-bluffing in Poker?

Semi-Bluffing is a term used when players are holding a good drawing hand and bet out with it.

For instance when you have

Ace King Suited Hearts

Flop: 8h4hJs3c

Now you have the nut flush draw on the turn.

If you bet here with your AK suited you are semi-bluffing on the turn because you do not have a good hand yet, but your hand can be the best hand possible on the river if you hit another heart.

This type of play is really a play you can make to push people out of the pot when you think they are weak or not holding a decent hand. It is not advised to Semi-bluff when you know your opponent has an excellent hand.
