The Sidepass is a lateral movement where the horse crosses it's legs and steps sideways on a straight line. This is fairly easy to teach a mature horse that has already begun work on lateral movements such as half pass and leg yielding.
Its passing from side to side - e.g. Passing across the backs in an attacking formation
You are supposed to put it on from the horses left side.
Horses chew their hay or grains in their mouth with their teeth so that it is easier for their stomach to digest. Horses chew from side to side as in a motion of a grinder.
