Setting a description will give you, or someone else, a better understanding of what the interface is for. For instance, s0/0/0 is a WAN connection to another office, you won't have to research this, later on. It just gives you a better understanding of what it is. Let's say today, you set this interface as a WAN connection to another office, would you remember that 10 years down the line? What if you move to another company? If you set a description, a new network engineer will have an easier time understanding what each interface is used for.
