The main way people in the Netherlands have interacted with their environment is by diking land once covered by the ocean. The people in this country have a huge respect for their environment and do what they can to protect it.

∙ 12y agoThat's a tough question. The biggest adjustment is the draining of the land from water to make it available for agriculture. Watermanagement is a big thing in the Netherlands because we are below sealevel (even though we did that ourselves because of the draining)
