Isaac newton was an 18C English, pioneering physicist and mathematician who established the primary mathematics governing force, mass and motion (including gravity) and developed the mathematical field of Calculus. Credit for the latter though, is now given equally to Newton and Liebnitz (in Germany) as both achieved that at about the same time but independently. The SI unit of force, the Newton, is named after him.
