Soffit vents are located n the soffits, which are the horizontal surface between the top of the wall and the edge of the roofline along the bottom line of the roof. Usually the same roof edge line where you may have gutters installed.

These vents allow air to flow into your attic to provide ventilation which may then flow out the ridge vent or gable end vents.

A roofing soffit is the underpanel that lies under the roof where it joins the wall of the house. It sits flat and next to the fascia of the roof. The fascia is what the guttering is attached to. So to find the soffit, simply look at the fascia that he guttering is attached to and the soffit is upvc or timber panel underneath the guttering.

The soffit is basically, any finishing material, such as wood or fiber cement, that is installed to cover the underside of your roof overhang. Soffits not only contribute to the appearance of your home, but also ventilate your living space. Clearing soffits is very important for an uninterrupted air flow in your home. Other than paint peeling down or clogged debris into your soffits, rust and rot can also cause damage. A high concentration of moisture leads to the growth of fungus and mold around it. Moreover, a clogged gutter could lead to a need for some major repairs.

Soffits need regular maintenance with care and attention. Start by inspecting them on a routine basis, preferably once a month. If you feel that they need washing down, make sure you use the proper equipment and techniques. Best way to clean a roofing soffit is by pressure washing them with a telescopic spray wand extension, I got mine from bestcargurus
