No SR-71 has ever been shot down.
I know for a fact, because I was there, that there were 4 SR-71 at Kadena AFB in 68 & 69 and at least one flew almost every day. I had to go out on the runway and pick up the drag cute that they would drop before turning off the runway.

About 3 times the speed of sound. (3 mach)
No it is an advanced, long range, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft.
The SR-71 Blackbird primarily operated in the stratosphere, which is the second major layer of Earth's atmosphere. This layer is characterized by high altitudes, low air pressure, and stable atmospheric conditions - ideal for high-speed, high-altitude flight capabilities of the SR-71.
The maximum speed of a SR71 is 2,200 mph at 80,000 ft.
