Fertilisers are applied to promote the growth of plant and fruit. Excess nitrogen can be dangerous to agriculture. Plasmolysis will take place, where water passes from the plants to the soil resulting in the wilting of the plant. In case of heavy rainfall, the fertilizer may be washed away in rivers and which may result in the rapid growth of water plants, thus decreasing the amount of oxygen in the water and causing an increase in the amount of bacteria as the plant and other creatures die. In short it also causes water pollution.

This is very dangerous towards animals that use the water in any type of way.

when nitrogen is a compressed gas it can be dangerous because in a fire situation you could end up having the following symptoms not com bust, heating will cause rise in pressure with risk of bursting.
If you inhale it it can lead to unconsciousness. weakness. suffocation. the prevention is ventilation. this research was found at the following website.

High Levels of Nitrogen gas in a poorly ventilated area reduces the level of oxygen to dangerous levels (>19%) which causes headaches e.t.c until the level of oxygen is so low (>6%) suffocation occurs.

Not necessarily; our atmosphere is composed of mostly nitrogen. It can become fatally dangers as NO2, nitrous oxide, if it forms in the joints and bloodstream because of rapid decompression during ascents from deep dives. Preceeded by what is called 'nitrogen narcosis', the diver feels an unusual sense of well-being. However, that is deadly because it indicates the build-up of nitrous oxide in the blood. If he ascends too quickly, these molecules become bubbles in the joints and blood, called 'the bends', and someone can embolyze and die unless put in a decompression chamber, set to the level of the deepest part of the dive, and gradually having the surrounding air pressure decrease, causing the nitrous oxide dissolve away before reaching sea level.

Living things would die if there was no nitrogen. This element is essential for life.
