Southern States Investment Co. was bought out by Farmers National Life Insurance, and FNLI went bankrupt in 1977. The stock is worthless, unfortunately, unless you can sell it to a collector of old stock certificates, who might give you ten bucks or so for it. Sorry for not having better news.
