Hears what you do. Engine cylinder #s / Fireing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
The drivers side head front to rear are cylinders # 1-3-5-7
The other head front to rear is 2-4-6-8
Now this is were the plug wires go on the cap IF YOU HAVE THE DISTRIBUTOR IN CORRECTLY.
Standing in the front of the engine looking at the cap, On the right side of it you will see 4 places for the plug wires to go. Starting up front and going to the rear is, In this order. Cylinder # 1-7-3 and 5 wires go.
The other side of the cap you will see were 5 wires go and front to rear are cylinder# 8-2-4-6 and the coil wire going to the last 1.
Need to replace the ingnition module in the Distributor.
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Is it a brand new distributor ? If not then replace the module and pick-up coil in the distributor that you have.
I would replace the ignetion module that is in the distributor.
firing order from spark plug to the distributor cap
Yes.
Get a shop manual. There is no distributor. These have coil packs.
1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 same as the firing order
To add, this is a 5.7 v8 engine.
18436572 firing order on chev 265,283,307,327,350 ci
The ignition module that's in the distributor.
It is in the very back of the engine. Just follow the spark plug wires from the spark plugs and they will go to the top of the Distributor. That will be the distributor cap that the wires are in.
