"SB" is a maker's mark found on Mexican silver from the 1950's onward. It is usually accompanied by the word "Sterling" and an artisan's mark ("JA") is one I found recently. Hope this helps!
The letters in jewelry usually stand for the person who made it or the company. The 925 is the silver content of the jewelry. At 925 you have sterling silver and that is good.
925 is the mark for sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver. The BX is probably the manufacturer's mark. The gold jewelry is gold-plated sterling silver.
A 925 stamp (aka a . 925 or S925 stamp) signifies that 92.5% of your jewelry is sterling silver, and the remaining 7.5% is made of alloy metals. If you see 925 stamped on a piece of jewelry, this means the jewelry meets the quality standards of silver.
if the number .925 is stamped on it also that means sterling silver if the number .999 is stamped on the ring that means it is pure silver if no numbers, i am not sure
923 is not a stamp for sterling silver. Sterling silver is defined as being 92.5 percent pure silver as a minimum and is therefore usually stamped 925. 923 could be another mark than a purity stamp though.
Sterling silver jewelry and silverware is not alwaysmarked "925". Both silver jewelry and sterlingware can also be marked "Ster", "STER", or "Sterling". Silver jewelry may also be stamped "MEXICO". Sometimes this stamp accompanies another sterling marking; sometimes it is the only marking. You can learn more about other silver markings and gold markings at the link below.
Not necessarily.Firstly, it doesn't say "sterling", it says "silver," if they meant "sterling", they presumably would have stamped it "sterling."Secondly, there's no absolute guarantee that what it says is necessarily true.
The 925 is an indication of sterling silver, not gold.
If the bowl is stamped "sterling," it is genuine sterling silver, not silver plate.
There is not a stamp for jewelry that is 950. The stamp is .925 and it means the jewelry is sterling silver
If a piece of jewelry is stamped with OTC 925, the OTC stamp is the name of the company that made the jewelry, OTC International. 925 is a common stamp on all sterling silver.
When silver jewelry is stamped 80 SR it means that the jewelry is 80% silver.
