Stick ball is a type of Baseball game that is played informally on the street or in a park or playground.

Generally, the bat is a broomstick handle about the length of a regular baseball bat.

The ball is usually a rubber ball unlike the leather encased baseball one with stitches.

Using a rather thin stick-ball bat makes the ball harder to hit. The bases in a stick ball game are usually made in chalk. There is no umpire but like baseball, the batter gets an "out" with 3 misses.

The pitcher can be at whatever distance from the batter the players decide. This being a truly informal game, the rules are made up prior to the start of the game. Most times stick ball is played with only a handful of players unlike baseball where there are 9 players per team.
