The stilling chamber is used in the water treatment plant of a power plant.

In the pre treatment processs, the water after passing through aerator enters the stilling chamber where due to its large volume, velcocity of water drops & the air bubbles entrapped in the water moves up, thus water is deaerated for further processing ......final product of the water treatment process is Demineralised water, which is used for raising steam in the boiler.

A stilling chamber is used in a power plant to help reduce the velocity of water entering a hydroelectric turbine. This chamber allows for sediment to settle before water is directed towards the turbine, helping to protect the turbine from damage and maintain efficient operation. It also helps to prevent cavitation and ensures smooth flow of water into the turbine.

What nuclear reaction is used to the Bataan power plant?

The Bataan nuclear power plant uses nuclear fission as the nuclear reaction to generate electricity. In nuclear fission, the nucleus of an atom is split into two smaller nuclei, releasing a large amount of energy, which is harnessed to produce electricity.

Which coolant is used in kalpakkam nuclear power plant?

What is MW power plant?

A MW power plant, or a megawatt power plant, is a power generation facility that produces electricity at a rate of one million watts. It is a unit of power measurement and is commonly used to describe the capacity of a power plant. MW power plants can be thermal, hydroelectric, renewable, or any other type of power plant that generates electricity.

Is a nuclear power plant and power plant the same?

A nuclear power plant is a type of power plant that generates electricity using nuclear reactions, typically involving uranium. A power plant can refer to any facility that generates electricity, including coal, natural gas, or renewable energy sources, while a nuclear power plant specifically uses nuclear energy.

How did the Chernobyl power plant work?

The Chernobyl power plant was a nuclear power plant that used a reactor to produce electricity. It generated power by splitting atoms in a process called nuclear fission, which released energy that was converted into electricity. However, a catastrophic explosion and fire occurred at the plant in 1986, resulting in the worst nuclear disaster in history.

What is ESP in a power plant?

ESP stands for Electrostatic Precipitator, which is a device used to remove particles and impurities from the flue gas emitted by power plants. It works by applying an electric charge to the particles, causing them to be attracted to a collection plate where they can be removed from the gas stream. This helps reduce air pollution and improve the overall efficiency of the power plant.
