The gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke are the synoptic gospels, as theya re similar to an parallel to each other. The gospel of John is different.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2021, there is no widely recognized figure named Andrew Ludwig associated with "synoptics." If this refers to a specific project, publication, or individual developments related to synoptic studies or meteorology, I may not have the latest information. For the most current updates, I recommend checking recent publications, news articles, or official sources related to Andrew Ludwig and synoptic studies.

mark was the writer of one of four gospels. his, matthew's, and luke's gosspels are called the synoptic gospel because each of theirs is pretty much in the same point of view.(synoptics in greek literaly means 'seeing in the same eye)
Jirair S. Tashjian has written: 'The social setting of the mission charge in Q' -- subject(s): Q hypothesis (Synoptics criticism)
Scholars say that in the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Markand Luke), the mission of Jesus seems to have taken no more than one year, but that in John's Gospel his mission explicitly took three years. Thus, Matthew was a disciple for about one year (synoptics) or perhaps three years (John), although the name Matthew is not mentioned in John.
