Well, that is more of an opinion for me to answer, but i can give you facts.
The human race has made more progress in the past 110 years than we did over time periods of about 500 years. But technology, morals, ideas, and economies have been progressing, and in my guess, will continue to do so. If you look at it that way, it seems as though the question should be: " Why Cant people on earth progress at even a faster rate than they already are?"
Greed, a lust for power, religious competition as opposed to a reasoning way of looking at things. We have not as yet reached the age of reason. we still live in an age of nationalistic, religious and sexual fear and this will continue to hold us as humans back and cause us to destroy what we have gained.
