Most of British Columbia switches between UTC-8 and UTC-7, like California, but there are two areas in the province where the time is always UTC-7, like 84% of Arizona, and there is one area in the southeast part of the province that switches between UTC-7 and UTC-6, like Colorado. The areas that change their clocks twice a year do so at the same times as the corresponding time zones in the U.S. So Maryland, which switches between UTC-5 and UTC-4, is almost always 3 hours ahead of most of B.C. and 2 hours ahead of the rest of the province.
