I'd call it a plaster assemblage. In her autobiography "Harry and Me. The Family Years" she describes on page 90 how she made a tree out of found objects and plaster for her children's room. Jean Tinguely welded the chassis - the first of many collaborations to come.
She was heavily influenced byGaudi's Parc Guell in Barcelona and so Niki de Saint Phalle decided that she wanted to make something similar: a monumental sculpture park created by a woman.
