Not correct. The second fastest animal is the North American prong horned antelope (actually related to a goat). Not commonly known, but the Cheetah first evolved in North America, spread around the world, then died out in N. America.
The prong horn had to become fast to survive.

∙ 10y agoThe pronghorn has been recorded at a speed of 55 miles per hour which is the second fastest speed for an animal on land. The pronghorn is actually considered the fastest over long distances compared to the cheetah which tends to sprint less than 1 minute at a time.
