Why is the c in Celsius capitalized?
In almost every other case, when a unit is named after a person, the symbol is capitalized and the word is not (for example, N for newton... for Isaac Newton, where the symbol is capitalized, but the word for the unit is not). For Celsius, though, they made an exception, both C and Celsius are capitalized. Answer Celsius is not an SI unit, so the coventions for writing SI symbols do not apply.
