Well, the truth is there is no 'best' Pokemon. It all depends on the type of Pokemon you're facing. Also each Pokemon has it's own unique growth rate, so even if you had to Charizard they are not the same. One could have an extremely powerful attack, while the other excels in speed. Really, it really depends on the items you give it, the level it's at, the moves it has, it's type, and it's stats. So keep training your current Pokemon! Who knows, your Pokemon might be the most powerful and you might not even know it!
songjongsuk: Well, following your theory, Arceus is the best Pokemon. It has the most stats (720), it can be placed in any role you place it (tank, wall, sweeper, sustainer) since all its stats are 120. It`s type coverage can be varied using the plates, which is an extremely good advantage. The moves it learn are pretty good, and it is caught at level 80, which is a very very high level. So yeah, you are contradicting yourself there. I mean, a level 100 magikarp can`t beat a level 1 Arceus!
Other Guy: Well, Songjongsuk technically Magikarp should be a Gyrados by that level. Also, considering a bug type(Parasect) can successfully solo Mewtwo I agree with him.

Yes hands down it is the best.
In Pokemon platinum, like in all Pokemon games you battle your Pokemon against other Pokemon to make them stronger, the object of the game is to beat the eliete 4 who are the best at battling and complete the pokedex.
