Due to the current lack of availability, you best shoot whatever you can find. Beyond that, CCI and Wolf make fine ammunition.
Model 1893: 1893 to 1921 or 22. PAT'D OCT. 11,1887. APRIL2.1889. AUG. 1, 1893.Made in calibers 25-36, 30-30, 32-40 32HPS, 38-55. No way to tell from the SN, would have to see what markings are on the barrel, Best guess for that serial number is ABOUT 1913. Back then records were a ledger in pen and ink, and are not complete. Sorry.
That depends on the application. For hunting ammunition, any of the American name brands are quite good. You may well find that your rifle prefers one particular brand and bullet weight to give the best accuracy. For full metal jacket ammunition, you can't beat Lake City ammunition for the best match grade.
You will need to by as many different brands and bullet weights as you can afford and shoot them. Your weapon will show a preference for one or two.
Only buy ammunition that matches what is printed on your barrel. There are a few exceptions but that is the general rule.

You will have to tell us what you want to use it for.
For a home owner the best way to store ammunition is inside a gun safe. Preferably in the climate controlled living area.
The Glenfield 12 Gauge Model 778 shotgun uses 12-gauge shotgun ammunition. It can fire various types of shells, including birdshot, buckshot, and slugs, depending on the intended use. Standard shell lengths for this shotgun are typically 2¾ inches and 3 inches. Always refer to the manufacturer's specifications for the best performance and safety.
Any .308 Winchester ammunition.
Whatever the correct ammunition is for that gauge. Sabot-loaded slugs tend to be somewhat more accurate than so-called "rifled" slugs in most guns.
It depends on the gun. The question is a little to vague.
