A town that was in Russia.
The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk led to the cession of several Russian territories to Germany and the Central Powers. However, the need to devote manpower to govern these territories cost Germany during the war.
The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, signed in March 1918 between Soviet Russia and the Central Powers, resulted in Russia's withdrawal from World War I. The treaty imposed significant territorial losses on Russia, ceding large areas, including Ukraine, Belarus, and the Baltic states, to Germany and its allies. This agreement allowed the Central Powers to concentrate their forces on the Western Front, altering the balance of power in the war. However, the treaty was later annulled after Germany's defeat in November 1918.
