The C shell is a unix shell created by Bill Joy as a graduate student at University of California, Berkeley in the late 1970s.
The C shell runs in a text window and processes user commands. The C shell can also read commands from a script. It supports piping, here documents, command substitution, variables, control structures for condition-testing and looping and filename wildcarding.
