M refers to molar. Molarity is the number of moles of a solute dissolved in one liter of solvent. 3M means there are 3 moles of sulfuric acid in one liter, and 9M means 9 moles of sulfuric acid are dissolved in one liter.

The key difference between 3M and 9M sulfuric acid is the concentration of sulfuric acid molecules in the solution. A 3M solution contains a lower concentration of sulfuric acid molecules compared to a 9M solution. This means that the 9M solution is more concentrated and therefore more acidic and potentially more corrosive.

One mole of H2SO4 weighs 98.07 grams. A 1.0 molar solution would be mixed by putting 98.07 grams of H2SO4 (not possible, it is not available in this form at 100% but for arguments sake) in a 1 liter flask and adding water until the volume is exactly 1 liter of chemical. 3 Molar would be 3x98.07 grams and 9 molar would be 9x98.07 grams.

To calculate the density of 9.0 M H2SO4:

Volume used: 16,0 mL

(9 M)(Vol in Litres)(Molar mass of H2SO4 which is 74,12g/mol) = 14,12g

The density of anything = X grams product/ Y grams solvant(water in this case)

Therefore the density for this exemple: D = 14,12g / 16mL

= 0,883g/mL

What is the difference between 3M HCL Rather than 6M HCL?

3M HCl is a dilute hydrochloric acid solution with a concentration of 3 moles per liter, while 6M HCl is a more concentrated hydrochloric acid solution with a concentration of 6 moles per liter. This means that 6M HCl is more acidic and will be stronger in terms of its corrosive properties compared to 3M HCl.

If you have 25ml of 3m acid how much 8m base would you need to neutralize it?

To neutralize the 25ml of 3M acid, you would need to find the number of moles of acid present, which is 25ml * 3M = 75 millimoles. Then, you would need the same number of millimoles of the 8M base to neutralize it, so you would need 75 millimoles / 8M = 9.38ml of the 8M base.

How do you prepare 100 mL 3M hydrochloric acid?

To prepare 100 mL of 3M hydrochloric acid, you would need to dilute a concentrated hydrochloric acid solution with a concentration greater than 3M. For example, you could measure 25 mL of concentrated 12M hydrochloric acid and dilute it with 75 mL of water to make a total volume of 100 mL with a concentration of 3M. Always remember to add acid to water slowly and with constant stirring to prevent splattering and ensure safety.

How do you make 3M H2SO4?

To make a 3M H2SO4 solution, add 98 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid (around 98% purity) to about 700 mL of deionized water. Always remember to wear proper safety equipment, such as gloves and protective eyewear, and to slowly add the acid to the water while stirring gently to prevent splashing.
