The Health Care Reform act has four main goals that it is attempting to accomplish. First, the HCR act will provide greater protection for healthcare consumers by eliminating lifelong caps on insurance coverage and by granting health insurance coverage to children with pre-existing health conditions. Secondly, the HCR will make healthcare insurance more affordable by requiring employers to spend eighty percent (80%) of insurance premiums on healthcare coverage and by providing tax credits to small businesses to help them provide healthcare for their employees. Third, the HCR will provide better access to care by covering prescreening tests and allowing adults to be on their parents' insurance plan up to age 26. Finally, the HCR will strengthen Medicare and reduce costs for those who have it.
