∙ 10y agoSouth African Banks do not participate in the IBAN system as this is for the European Union and a few bordering countries. South Africa uses the SWIFT/BIC + Branch Code + Account Number to make international Wire Transfers. This is the only way to transfer money.
If you search for wikipedia and IBAN you will also note that South Africa is NOT listed under the countries.
