The entire formula has 26 valance electrons or 13 electron pairs. (As has 5, and F has 7). Now determine which is your central atom, this is As because there is only one. Now put F's around the As and form a single bond to each. This gets rid of three of the pairs, 10 more to go. Because you have to follow the octect rule in most situations, you now place three non-bonding electrons to each of the F's, and attach one non bonding pair to the As. Count the pairs, there should now be 13 pairs total (26 individual) General idea is F-As-F (with one more F single bond off the As and pairs around the F's and As)----> F Hope this helps (actually I hope its right myself, I'm trying to do my homework now too). :-)

Does CaCO3 have a Lewis structure?

No, not exactly. It is an ionic compound so it would not have a Lewis dot structure. However, the carbonate anion, CO3^2- does have a Lewis dot structure.

When was Lewis structure created?

The Lewis structure was created by American chemist Gilbert N. Lewis in 1916. Lewis proposed using dots to represent the valence electrons of an atom in order to show how atoms bond together in molecules.
