Hi. To get to the oil filter, you need to jack up the car and unscrew the plastic cover underneath the rear engine of the MR2. The oil filter is located in the middle-rear section under the vehicle. Usually black cylinder shaped. You will need an oil filter wrench. Also, have a pan ready cause when you get it out of there, it will spray oil out. Peace, Mike

To fill the gear oil for a Toyota MR2, locate the transmission fill plug, which is typically found on the side of the transmission case. Use a funnel with a hose to pour the gear oil into the fill hole until it reaches the level of the fill plug. Ensure the car is on a level surface for accurate filling. Always refer to the owner's manual for the correct type of gear oil and specific procedures for your MR2 model.
To check the oil pressure in a Toyota MR2, you can use an oil pressure gauge. First, locate the oil pressure sending unit, typically found near the oil filter. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sending unit, then install the oil pressure gauge in its place. Start the engine and observe the gauge reading; it should fall within the manufacturer's specified range for normal oil pressure.
The recommended oil grade for a 1991 Toyota MR2 is typically 10W-30 or 5W-30, depending on the climate and driving conditions. It's important to check the owner's manual for specific recommendations based on the engine type and local temperatures. Using the correct oil grade helps ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.
The recommended oil for a 2002 Toyota Corolla is a high quality 10w30 multiple viscosity. Synthetic oil is also acceptable and recommended.

To change the oil pan on a 1987 Toyota MR2, first, ensure the engine is cool and then drain the engine oil by removing the drain plug. Next, remove the oil pan by unscrewing the bolts that secure it in place, being cautious of any remaining oil. Clean the mating surfaces on the engine and the new oil pan, apply a new gasket or sealant, and then reinstall the oil pan. Finally, refill the engine with fresh oil and check for leaks.
