the division of Ireland in 1921 into Northern Ireland and the Irish Free State/Republic of Ireland

yes, from 1603 until partition in 1921

Prior to partition, Dublin was the capital of Ireland.

Partition took place in 1921, with the formation of the Irish Free State, (from 1948 the Republic of Ireland) and Northern Ireland, which remained part of the United Kingdom.

The partition of Ireland, creating Northern Ireland and what is now the Republic of Ireland. The Irish civil war started in 1922. Many other things happened too.

In my views, the most famous historic event of Ireland is War of Independence followed by partition in 1920-21. It changed the structure of Ireland dividing it into Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland which is still a part of U.K.

Yes there is partition today in Ireland. We use different money, Sterling in the North and Euro in the South. Different car registrations to show whether you are from the South or North. Also there are two governments. There are actually a lot of evidence to show that it is Partitioned.

Firstly, Northern Ireland uses the British Pound Sterlingwhilst the Republic of Ireland uses the Euro. Secondly, Northern Ireland is under the rule of the Monarch in England (currently Queen Elizabeth II) whilst the Republic has a president. Also, on maps there is a clear divide between both the Republic and Northern Ireland. Of course, there are several more pieces of evidence of this partition, such as visible things like road signs looking different.

Saorstát ireann means the Irish Free State. It was an early reference to the 26 counties of the Republic of Ireland, after partition set it and Northern Ireland up.

The system partition(a partition where the operating system is installed) is the active partition of the Hard Drive

In 1921 a treaty was signed between Ireland and Britain, giving independence to most of Ireland. People in the northern part of Ireland did not want independence from Britain. This created partition, so when the treaty was implemented in 1922, Northern Ireland was created and was part of the United Kingdom, while what is now known as the Republic of Ireland became independent.

There would be no partition, Irish people would still speak Irish, not English, and Ireland wouldn't have such a colourful history. England's invasion of Ireland has had such an affect on the country, it's hard to say what it would be like if it hadn't happened.

As a political entity Ireland existed for a long time before coming under the influence of Britain, gaining its independence in 1922, at which time partition occured creating Northern Ireland and what was then the Irish Free State. It became a republic in 1949.

Northern Ireland was created as a distinct division of the United Kingdom on 3 May 1921 under the Government of Ireland Act 1920. However it wasn't recognised as being officially separate from the rest of Ireland until the signing of the Anglo Irish Treaty on 6 December 1921, which set up what people refer to as Partition. This came into effect one year later on 6th Dec 1922 and Northern Ireland opted out of joining the Irish Free State as the rest of Ireland was then known. The Irish Free State became referred to as Eire as a result of the Constitution of Ireland in 1937 and fully became a Republic on 18 April 1949 .
