Aims:
- To hold global temperature rise to "well below 2 degrees C", and to try to limit temperature rise to 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
- To work towards managing the dangerous effects of climate change, without threatening world food production.
- To provide finance to developing countries giving them a pathway towards low greenhouse gas emissions and climate-resilient development.
- To reach "global peaking of greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible".
